- Difficulty: 2.5 Medium-Low
- Duration: Approximately 2 hours (one way)
A unique place due to its natural beauty, a spot that will undoubtedly captivate you and connect you with the peace and tranquility generated by these three waterfalls.
HISTORY AND CURIOSITIES
The name of these impressive waterfalls comes from a variety of mango known as "mango matasano," which used to be abundant in the area and its surroundings but is now practically extinct. The name is sometimes confused with other areas in Antioquia. This place is also home to diverse flora and fauna, including a beautiful humid orchid and the torrent duck, which was first observed here in 1991 by the Antioquia Ornithology Society. Matasano waterfalls are the first location in Colombia where torrent ducks were sighted, indicating that the ecosystem is still very clean.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Due to the water falling, the Lenard effect is generated. This occurs when water hits the rocks, creating particles that rise due to gravity. These particles recharge our body and mind with beautiful energy.
ROUTE AND ALTIMETRY
The route mostly goes through village paths and valleys. Initially, we head north alongside the Concepción River, which accompanies us throughout the journey. The terrain is mostly flat, with occasional small climbs and descents that are easy to traverse. It is an easy route with beautiful landscapes, but during the rainy season, the difficulty increases due to areas where water accumulates.
