"Hello, my name is Dilcia Ruiz. I am a business administrator and I moved from the city of Medellín seeking the countryside, seeking peace and tranquility.
One day I got desperate and said, 'No more, enough is enough.'
It is not easy to make this change—leaving the comfort zone of a city and moving to the countryside is very difficult. But I arrived in this town and it was love at first sight. I loved this town; it has me completely enamored. The peace, tranquility, and friendliness of the people—it is a town that literally seems frozen in time 100 years ago. You still see people from the rural areas arriving on their horses with their products, and there are special places where they rent spaces. There are very few places to park your car, but there are many places to park horses—horse parking lots from old times where the farmer ties his horse, sells his harvest, buys groceries, and returns to the rural area. Traditional life is still very much preserved here. For example, the rivers are one of the main tourist attractions. People happily arrive at the rivers, and they are completely clean. Watching the little fish swim in the river is beautiful. Even the birds around the town are completely free. Waste management is also well handled. Currently, in front of this house, I am renting rooms and spaces called Aunt's Corner.
Welcome to Aunt's Corner! I am also trying to motivate people to come, explore, enjoy, disconnect a bit from the city, leave all the stress and hurry behind, and breathe the peace, tranquility, and harmony still present in this small paradise called Concepción. It is beautiful—I invite you! Tourism here is just starting to develop. Few people come. Accommodation services are humble but provided with great care and respect for visitors. Everyone is learning—how to develop tourism, how to improve tourism. We are relatively new to tourism development, about 3–4 years, and I’ve only been here seven months. I am also passionate about crafts, especially working with wood. For example, this cow sculpture was made by me. I also work in jewelry and other handmade crafts. Offering these crafts to guests is also a way to sustain life in the countryside, which can be challenging, especially when retired or having other income sources. The most important thing here is to live in peace and tranquility. Everything else comes naturally. Welcome to this little paradise, enjoy it in peace and calm."
